Dylan Doesn’t Sell These:
"See Spencer. See Spencer Shake. Shake Spencer Shake."
The other day I was bored, and what do I do when I’m bored? Some times I cook more (vegan) food than I can eat, or read until my eyes wont focus, or strum meaningless random chords on my guitar, and sometimes I knit… Well, a lot of the time I knit. I started knitting when I was 9 and 11 years later I’m still addicted.
The project for this round of boredom was a new sweater for my 6 month old Yorkie puppy Spencer to keep him from freezing to death as he clicks his way over our frigid tile floors. A lot of dog sweaters are just butt ugly so I wanted to make him something that is eminently awesome. I went through my yarn and found some charcoal colored yarn I used to make the letter of one of my cousins holiday Weasley sweater’s the color was almost an exact match to my Summer Set Love Like This hoodie I bought from the amazing Dylan Dagan at AP Tour when I lived in Saint Paul, MN. After that it was all down hill from there.
I found a basic sweater pattern that I thought would work, made a “LOVE LIKE THIS” intarsia chart(it had to be pretty small cause Spence is only 5lbs), did a test sweater with scrap yarn to make sure it was the right size and to make some adjustments to the pattern, knit, knit, knit….
And a few hours later Spencer was zipping around in his new sweater with his tiny little tail wagging.
Today I finally managed to catch him in mid-nap so I could take some pictures with out them being total blurs.
The Sweater pattern is the Varsity Sweater free pattern from Mia & Maddie Designs and the “LOVE LIKE THIS” is done in intarsia with a cart I made (picture above).
